2012 Community Art Fair and Garlic Fest

Two local organizations come together for this event featuring local talent and local food. The Community Art Fair portion of the event will feature local artists who will be displaying and selling their works from 10-6 on Saturday and 10-5 on Sunday. The Garlic Fest portion of the event will feature live music on the Third Street Park stage all day with free admission. The stage will feature: The Vallures, M & David Roach, Sarah Flint, The Dynamics, Governor Davis and Snake Doctor. Food and beverages will be provided by the Garlic Fest restaurants, which include Lennie's, Bloomingfoods, Max's, Garlic, Inc among others. Showcased foods will start at $3 and will feature garlic, otherwise the entire event is free. The Garlic Fest portion of the event will also feature a Youth Healthful Garlic Cooking Contest with cash prizes awarded on Saturday (must be 18 years old or younger to enter). Throughout the weekend, Garlic, Inc will also present featured speakers and information booths on the topic of buying and preparing foods with your health in mind. Garlic, Inc is a non-profit educational organization with the goal of informing the public on healthful food growing and consuming behavior from field to plate. The food showcase is a fundraising event for Garlic, Inc. This is an outside event so bring sunglasses, sunblock, hats, folding chairs and picnic blankets.
