In what could be the first collaborative undertaking of its kind at an American university, the "Double Exposure" project will premiere original works created by Indiana University film and musical composition students. The project harnesses the creative talents of composition students from the IU Student Composer Association, IU filmmaking students and instrumentalists in the IU Jacobs School of Music. Conductors Elliott Bark and Roger Kalia will lead two ensembles during the screening. Manny Knowles, assistant director for IU Cinema systems/operations, will oversee the projection of 16 mm film and HDCAM digital formats for the demanding, fast-paced program. Faculty and students from the Jacobs School's Department of Recording Arts will record the live performances and provide sound reinforcement connected to the IU Cinema's world-class sound system.
