Bloomingfoods Market Kirkwood

This quaint limestone carriage house is home to the original Bloomingfoods Co-op Grocery, located where the alleys intersect off Kirkwood and West 5th Street for over 30 years. Like the larger Bloomingfoods, this one offers friendly, knowledgeable service and a wide array of often hard-to-find food and wellness products.  Bloominfoods Kirkwood is an intimate European-style market where nearly all the produce is organic and/or locally grown, as are many of the dairy, cheese and meat products. Sushi is made fresh on site daily, and can be special ordered for parties. Upstairs (yes, there is a second story) you'll find fair-trade coffee, an extensive bulk foods section, and a room dedicated to herbs and teas - as well as old-fashioned aisles of some of the latest natural foods and specialty groceries. There is coffee brewing, soup on the stove and a case full of sandwiches and other to-go items, making this a facorite spot for students and others looking for healthy fast food options. A delightful patio is tucked away just beyond the main campus retail street in Bloomington.
