 Description

Visit the Indiana Geological Survey and discover the planet beneath your feet! Displays feature many aspects of earth science, including Indiana plant fossils, trace fossils, caves, coal mining, mapping and cartography, and limestone quarrying. IU’s Department of Geological Sciences (located in the west end of the building) also possesses remarkable collections of minerals and fossils. Stop by the real-time seismic station where you just might witness the seismometer recording shock waves from an earthquake happening somewhere in the world.

Self-guided tours are available from 8 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday.
