Each year, over a million visitors travel to the Bloomington area to experience the arts, culture, recreation, food and collegiate events that abound in this community. These million visitors spend around $279 million each year, on things like lodging, food and drink, entertainment and retail. Their visits support nearly 8,000 jobs in Monroe County. Quarry Tour Part of Limestone Month Activities
June has been designated as Limestone Month and this coming June is filled with special activities and events to celebrate the heritage, industry and artistry of limestone. Bloomington Selected to Host Three Northern National Softball Tournaments in 2013 ASA Girls' 12-Under, 18-Under Northern National Championships to be played over two consecutive weeks

2012 Tourism Marketing Grant Winners
Visit Bloomington has announced the winners of its tourism marketing grant funding for 2012. In its fourth year, the grant program will provide up to $30,000 to eight different organizations for events taking place throughout 2012. The grant was developed to help promote and enhance new and existing events through advertising, website development, and other methods geared at audiences outside a 50-mile radius of Monroe County. ... more |

Tourism Industry Celebrated in Bloomington
As part of a week-long program to celebrate the local tourism industry, the Bloomington/Monroe County Convention & Visitors Bureau hosted a reception on May 12 at The Bishop in downtown Bloomington.
