A Saturday in B-town

Categories: Arts & Culture, Family Fun, Wine & Culinary

I was hanging out this past Saturday, taking a few pictures for the visit bloomington photo library and doing some research for the upcoming 2010 Visitors Guide and thought I'd share my Saturday B-town experience.

I got to town around 11 am, just in time to get some good shots of the Bloomington Community Farmers' Market, which is open from 8 am to 1 pm. The market was buzzing with activity this week, with local tomato tasting, live music and of course, the many booths offering locally-grown produce, meats, cheeses, flowers and more!

After browsing through the market, I took a stroll down the new B-Line Trail, which has become a major artery to and from the Farmers' Market. The trail seems to be a huge hit with local residents and visitors alike, including the new signature sculpture, located just to the west of the market and City Hall, which has become something of a gathering spot for people during the market.

If you're in Bloomington on a Saturday, make it a point to head out to the Bloomington Community Farmers' Market. Here's a sweet tip: La Petit Cafe is now serving yummy morning specialities from their window along the B-town Trail during Farmers' Market hours.  Bon Apetit!
