Autumn in Bloomington is filled with color.

Categories: Outdoors, Family Fun

It's fall in B-town!  The cheery green leave are beginning to show patches seasonal color, from warm oranges and reds to bright yellows, and the temperatures are beginning to drop, bringing crisp mornings, comfortable sunny afternoon and cool evenings. The lazy days of summer are gone and school is back in session and that means that Bloomington is back in the full swing of things.

Sunny autumn afternoons make for a great time to get outdoors in the Bloomington area – take a hike in the Hoosier National Forest, climb the fire tower, stroll along the downtown B-Line trail or visit one of several city parks and recreation areas. If you're a bicycle enthusiast, check out the annual Hilly Hundred Bicycle Tour, coming up this year on Oct. 23-15.

Take in a seasonal tradition – Indiana University Football! Saturdays in B-town are filled with team spirit, tailgating and cheering on the home team as the Hoosiers fight to defend "The Rock" (otherwise known as Memorial Stadium). They're off to a great start this year, so come on out and support the IU Hoosiers! Season schedule and ticket information is available at http://IUHoosiers.com.

Vivid fall colors, a vibrant downtown and special events almost every weekend make Bloomington the perfect place to plan your fall getaway!
