Camping & climbing the tower in the Deam

Categories: Outdoors

I went camping in the Charles Deam Wilderness (http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/hoosier/recreation/ccdw.htm) last night and had a great time with Rachael, Tori, Hannah, Tessa, Zoe & Sylvester.  The Deam is approximately 1/2-hour south of Bloomington just off 446 in the Hoosier National Forest.  Go about 10 miles past Lake Monroe, watch for the Deam sign and turn left into the wilderness.  You will find plenty of excellent primitive camping spots, lots of scenic hiking and the always fun, Hickory Ridge Lookout Tower.  It's 110 feet and 123 steps straight up to arguably the best view in the state of Indiana.  Zoe, Tess & Hannah all went up and down twice today.
