Celebrate Summer!

It's August already! How did that happen? 

Yes, it seems like the kids are headed back to school earlier than ever, but don't worry summer isn't quite over yet! Celebrate those last lingering days of summer with us here in Bloomington - we've got the perfect weekend all picked out for you...

No, it's not Labor Day. I'm talking about the weekend before Labor Day - August 23-25! We've got some fabulous events lined up for that weekend and it's right in the sweet spot. You know, that spot after the craziness of the first week of school for your kids has passed, but before the craziness of the "official" end-of-summer weekend.

Here's what you need to know - 

 Flavors of 4th Street

Flavors of 4th Street - Sat., Aug. 24

Discover new flavors at this fun event featuring the International restaurants on 4th Street, live music, street performers and more, from 5 - 11 pm. Admission is $10 per person ($5 students, free for kids under age 12), plus $1 per food item.         

 Creekbend Vineyard

Creekbend Bluegrass Bash - Sat., Aug. 24

The first ever live bluegrass showcase at Creekbend will kick off with the annual Vines, Pines and Inclines trail run through the vineyard. Enjoy free wine tasting, food trucks, self-guided vineyard tours and music by Not Too Bad Bluegrass Band, The Whipstitch Sallies and Indiana Boys. Admission is $20 per car for this family-friendly event. Gates open at 6 pm. 

 Grant Street Jazz Fest

Grant Street Jazz Festival - Sat., Aug. 24

Brought to you by Jazz for Bloomington, this fun downtown event showcases several talented local Jazz performers, including outstanding high school and college musicians, as well as professionals. Enjoy live Jazz for free from 11 am to 11 pm on Grant Street between Kirkwood Avenue and 6th Street.
