For those of you who were, like me, lucky enough to catch the Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band in concert during the recent Lotus Festival, mark your calendars because I just found out that they'll be back to rock B-town again in November.
That great Bloomington live music tradition, The Bluebird, will host the Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band opening for their friends the Avett Brothers on November 20 and 21.
If you're not familiar with the Avett Brothers, you should be! Their songs are honest: just chords with real voices singing real melodies. But, the heart and the energy with which they are sung is really why people are talking, and why so many sing along. Check out their website at www.theavettbrothers.com.
The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band is a home-grown Hoosier group. Originally from Lawrence County, just south of Bloomington, Rev. Peyton created the Big Damn Band with is wife "Washboard" Breezy and his brother Jayme. Though small in numbers, the band is indeed big when it comes to sound! Now living right next door in Brown County, the group actually recorded their current album, "The Whole Fam Damnily," right here in B-town! Find out more at www.bigdamnband.com.
