Halloween events, 2010

Categories: Arts & Culture, Family Fun

The changing leaves, apple cider, football weekends.... on thing is clear - it's almost time for Halloween in Bloomington!  The big night is only a few days away - here are a few events to help get you into the Halloween spirit.

Harroddsburg Haunted House
If you haven't explored this annual Halloween tradition yet, you've still got this weekend! They're open every Friday and Saturday in October. Be sure to check out the online interactive history on the website before you go.

Dennis James hosts Halloween
Dennis James honed his craft at IU's Jacobs School of Music in the 1960s and returns for his annual Halloween performance on Oct. 27 at 7:30 pm. When James and the IU Auditorium's 4,500-pipe organ are reunited, it's a spooky Halloween treat like no other.

B3 Halloween Burlesque Bash
The Bloomington Burlesque Brigade presents their Halloween Bash, where you'll find zombies, ghouls, monsters and all the other things that go bump and grind in the night! Catch one of two shows on Oct. 30 at Uncle Elizabeth's Nigtclub. Doors open at 9 pm; shows begin at 10 pm and Midnight.

Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Cardinal Stage Company presents their annual production of the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on Oct. 30 with two full floorshows and screenings at 8 pm and MIdnight. Spiced with sweet transvestites, mad scientists, and a big chunk of Meat Loaf, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a cult phenomenon unlike any film or musical you’ve ever seen. Don't miss the "de-virginization ritual" beginning a half hour before showtime. Come in costume for $5 off the admission cost!

Zombie Parade
Calling all zombies! Come in your decomposing best and join Bloomington's annual (yet unofficial) Zombie Parade. The fun will begin at the Sample Gate at 10 pm on Oct. 30. Zombies will terrorize Bloomington all along Kirkwood Avenue.

World Premier: 8 Wheels of Death
From Roller Mortis Films, the world's first ever Roller Derbly Zombie Romantic Comedy will be presented at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater at 8 pm on Oct. 31. Featuring skaters from Bloomington's own Bleeding Heartland Roller Girls, this film was written, directed, filmed and edited right here in Bloomington!

Have a spook-tacular Halloween, everyone!
