Know Before You Go: Bloomington Music Expo
The Basics
Who is hosting the event? The Bloomington Music Expo is brought to you by Visit Bloomington, Bloomington Brewing Company, Downtown Bloomington, Graduate Bloomington, Landlocked Music, Orbit Room, Secretly Group, and WFHB Community Radio.
What is the event? The first annual Bloomington Music Expo is a fun celebration of all things music in the Bloomington, Indiana region. The expo is anchored by Bloomington’s only public vinyl show and there will be vendors, exhibits, performances, beer, prizes and more.
Many vendors and exhibitors will be selling vinyl, tapes, CDs, art, apparel and other music-related merchandise. Some vendors do accept credit cards but not all of them so please bring cash as well. There is an ATM in the Convention Center.
Vendors and exhibitors include record labels, independent music (vinyl, CDs, tapes) dealers, music media, record stores, music festivals, music art (posters, apparel, etc) dealers, and more.
Bloomington Brewing Company will have beverages available for purchase at the expo including a special edition Vinyl Slap can.
Where is the event? The expo will take place at the Monroe Convention Center. Parking at the center is free.
When is the event? The Bloomington Music Expo is a one-day event. It’s all happening on Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
How can I go to the event? The Bloomington Music Expo is open to everyone. Wristbands are $5 and available at the door. Students get in for free with a valid student ID. Cash and card are accepted. There is an ATM in the Monroe Convention Center located in the breezeway that connects the convention center to the Courtyard Marriot. The gate proceeds will go to Midway Music Speaks.

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM – DJs and prize giveaways
12:00 – 12:30 PM – Archives Of African American Music & Culture performance
12:30 – 1:00 PM – DJs and prize giveaways
1:00 – 1:30 PM – Flashback To Never performance
2:00 – 2:45 PM – Full Sun performance.
3:00 – 4:00 PM – The Impossible Shapes performance
What Else to Do & Where to Stay
The expo is a music event but will be offering limited food and drink. You are, however, within walking distance to downtown Bloomington, home to hundreds of restaurants and shops. See the full list of restaurants here.
