St. Patrick's Day 2017
It may be IU's spring break but there is plenty going on in town for St. Patrick's Day.
Shamrock Karaoke Bash at The Players Pub: Pregame for St. Paddy's Day at the Players Pub on March 15 starting at 8pm. Do a little jig while belting out favorite tunes all night long. Did we mention there will be FREE green beer (while supplies last). They'll have killer drink and food specials too featuring Guiness Battered Fish and chips, Shepard's Pie Sliders, and St. Patrick's Day Ice Cream Cookie Sunday. Um, yes please.
The Irish Lion: Join the Irish Lion for their annual St. Paddy's Day Celebration. Enjoy your corned beef & cabbage alongside a traditional bagpiper and all the Guinness and Jameson you can handle. Rumor has it that they'll have plenty of giveaways (tshirts, hats, glassware, and more) all day long.
St. Paddy's Day at Oddball Fermentables: Have you tried cyser yet? this mead/cider blend is the latest on the craft scene in Bloomington and absolutely delicious. Oddball is partnering with the great folks Greenskeeper Foods for a fun food and drink event! Put on your green and come by Oddball for St. Paddy's themed cyser cocktails and amazing Irish fare from Greenskeeper.
St. Patrick's Day Menu at Lennie's: Get your fill of Irish fare and craft beer at Lennie's starting Thursday, March 16 through Friday, March 17 from 4-9pm. The Stout Beef Stew with Fischer Farm beef, carrots, mushrooms, cabbage, and an Oatmeal Stout gravy sounds very tempting. Don't forget to try their new Nitro Oatmeal Stout while you're there.
St. Patrick's Day at Big Woods Bloomington: Get ready to party at Big Woods Bloomington for St. Paddy's Day starting at 12pm. There will traditional Irish food specials, traditional Irish cocktails and Quaff ON's McRyan O'Bryan Dry Irish Stout. Plus: Live music bagpipe music, 1-3 p.m. and live music from acoustic duo the McGuires, 5-9 p.m.
St. Patty's Day at FARMbloomington: If you're looking for a green beer free zone, head to FARMbloomington for a traditional Irish celebration. Highlights from the bar include Irish beers on tap and Jameson flights of signature whiskeys. The lunch and dinner menu looks delicious with Irish soda bread, colcannon Potato Soup, corned beef & cabbage, and Guinness chocolate cake with Bailey's buttercream.
The Scenic View will be open from 11am to 9pm serving up a special St. Patrick's Day menu including Guinness beer-battered fish & chips, reuben, classic corned beef & cabbage and Guinness stew. Guinness cake will also make an appearance for dessert. Live music will be happening from 11:30am-2:30pm and a bagpiper will play from 5:30-7:30.
The Alley Bar: There will be plenty of cold beer, peanuts, and St. Paddy's Day tshirts. If the weather cooperates hang out on the patio for excellent people watching.
The Hungarian Slacks at The Players Pub: The Hungarian Slacks returns to the Players Pub for St. Patrick’s Day. This Bloomington-based rock band specializes in guitar-driven original grooves with vocal harmonies that hearken back to the old country. Don your finest green, and don’t forget your dancing shoes. May the road to the Pub rise up to meet you!
JD McPherson at The Bluebird: Celebrating the release of his latest album, Let The Good Times Roll, songwriter and performer JD McPherson, will play live at The Bluebird on St. Patrick's Day.
John Roy at the Comedy Attic: After a few green beers head to the Comedy Attic for a few laughs. John Roy began his career performing in independent rooms in Chicago. After honing his act in clubs around the Midwest, John was crowned the first champion of CBS’ “Star Search,” in 2003. He has appeared on numerous television shows, including “Conan,” “@midnight,” “The Tonight Show,” “The Late, Late Show” and “Last Comic Standing.”
Irish Menu at the Tudor Room: Didn't get enough Irish fare on St. Patrick's Day? You're in luck. The Tudor Room will have an Irish themed lunch buffet from 11:30am-1:30pm on March 24. Celtic inspired dishes include corned beef & cabbage, Colcannon (traditional mixture of creamy mashed potatoes and kale), Guinness cake and more.
