What and who is it?

FREE Thursday evening outdoor concert in the park featuring two of the world’s finest bluegrass bands.

Catch Grammy winners Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway as they tour across the country in support of their great new record, City of Gold. Chicago-based Henhouse Prowlers open the show. Bloomington is fortunate to be hosting these incredible artists as both were recently nominated for 2023 International Bluegrass Music Association awards.

When is it?

Thursday, August 24 with Henhouse Prowlers beginning at 6:00 PM. The music will end around 9:30 PM.

Where is it?

Switchyard Park is located at 1601 S. Rogers Street, Bloomington, Indiana 47403. The Switchyard Park sits on the B-line Trail and is conveniently walkable from downtown Bloomington. The live music takes place on the Switchyard Park main stage on the east side of the park.

What does it cost to attend?

The concert is free for everyone. Parking is also free. There is parking available at Switchyard Park, but it is limited and could fill up. If needed, overflow parking will be allowed in a clearly marked and attended lot on Rogers Street just north of the park. Here is a parking map and please follow the concert parking signs. We encourage attendees to ride their bicycles to the park or perhaps walk to the show on the B-line Trail.

What else do I need to know?

Thanks to Food Truck Friday for arranging for several food trucks to be there selling a variety of food beginning at approximately 4:00 PM.

The concert area will be inside a fence and there will be an area where alcoholic beverages can be purchased. Concert goers must be 21 to purchase alcoholic beverages and security will be present in this area and throughout the park.

Feel free to bring your personal coolers, outdoor chairs, and blankets to lounge on the concert lawn and enjoy the show. We hope you get there early, claim your spot on the lawn, and hang out with us for a fantastic evening of music and community.

There are several enjoyable events happening Aug. 24-27 in the Bloomington area, including Pridefest 2023 and An Evening With The Bloomington Symphony Orchestra. We hope you will make a long weekend out of it.

These Thursday night concerts are brought to you by Visit Bloomington, Bloomington Parks & Recreation Department, Indiana University Arts & Humanities Council, All American Storage, Orbit Room, and Habitat For Humanity of Monroe County.
