Furst Quarry Tour

Enjoy a historic slide presentation and guided tour of the Furst Quarry with Duncan Campbell, an experienced preservationist with a passion for limestone. The abandoned quarry site covers 30 acres and includes 8 quarry holes, most of which will be seen on the walking tour.
This tour requires walking over uneven terrain, so guests with mobility restrictions may not be able to participate.
This tour requires closed-toed footwear. Please bring water, sunscreen, and wear clothing that is appropriate to be indoors and outdoors. If you do not have closed-toed footwear you will not be able to participate in the tour. Attendees must be 18 or older to participate.
The historic limestone slide presentation will begin promptly at 10 am at the Bloomington Visitors Center (2855 N. Walnut St.) and will last approximately one hour. From there, the group will board a shuttle to and from the quarry. The quarry tour will last approximately 1 hour, 15 minutes. Please arrive before 10 am to ensure a prompt start time. Attendees can expect to be back at the Visitors Center no later than 1:30 pm.
RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. The tour costs $40 per person and must be paid in advance via the PayPal link below. 50% refund for cancellations before May 27, 2020. No refunds for cancellations May 27, 2020 or after.
