Do you love stories? All season long, we’ve been telling stories: children’s stories, tales of tragedy and romance, and stories of far away places.

In History, Herstory, we feature the stories of two heroic figures: Abraham Lincoln, and Scheherazade, whose mesmerizing stories saved her life.

On the program:

Sibelius’s Spring Song – This piece will be dedicated to the memory of BSO cellist Steve Main
Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, narrated by WFIU‘s own George Walker
Stamitz’s Viola Concerto with soloist Maeve Whelan, winner of our 2017 Youth Concerto Competition
Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, featuring the gorgeous violin sound of Concert Master Kit Boulding

We are very grateful to our corporate sponsor, Hilliard Lyons.
