Legacy of Indiana Limestone in Bloomington

Come celebrate the opening of the Building a Nation exhibit, a photographic history of buildings from across the country that showcase the importance of the early limestone industry. Polly Sturgeon with the Indiana Geological Survey will explain how these recently discovered historic photos reflect the industry in its heyday, as well as the geology behind the stone and what makes it so unique. Available only from three Indiana counties, the Salem Limestone produces an outstanding dimension stone that has been used for many renowned buildings throughout the United States. Please contact Polly with any questions, proot@indiana.edu.

This presentation will take place in the ballroom on the third floor of Fountain Square Mall. The Building a Nation photo exhibit is on display in the atrium of the mall for the entire month of June.
