In honor of Monroe County's Bicentennial, County Commissioner Julie Thomas will be leading a limestone tour of the Monroe County Courthouse.  Participants will enjoy a behind the scenes look at several different places throughout the courthouse, including the dome!

Built in 1908, the Monroe County Courthouse is a Beaux Arts style and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Expect the tour to last about an hour and a half.  There is no fee to participate but registration is required, as space is limited.  Call the Bloomington Visitors Center (812-334-8900 or 800-800-0037) to register.  There will be a lot of walking and standing so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.

Attendees will meet in the atrium area of the Monroe County Courthouse.
