This tour will explore some of the core concepts in geological sciences, as well as many of the “little” ideas behind them. We’ll accomplish this through an in-depth look at the local geology in the lake area and interpreting the story that it tells of our past. Stops will include local bedrock layers, geodes, fossils, faults, an anticline, and other interesting features, with several opportunities for collecting.

Total tour time is about 6.5 hours, which includes an introductory presentation (indoors) and a stop for lunch (please bring your own bagged lunch!).

Participants must drive themselves; carpooling is encouraged.
