Opening Friday April 7, "TrashionRefashion and Beyond" showcases the work of two artists, David Ebbinghouse and Shannon Zahnle, working in tandem. David Ebbinghouse has created fashion ensembles for the local Trashion Refashion show beginning in 2012. In order to document his designs, he asked Shannon Zahnle to photograph his models in a studio setting. The exhibition will feature sixty of these photographs as well as some of the outfits and accessories from past Trashion Refashion shows. Participants in the Trashion Refashion show are allowed three entries; David has always had more outfits to choose from, so many of his creations that have not been previously seen will be seen publicly for the first time in this show.
There will be a fashion show/performance at the opening where the ensembles will be worn by models. One will be able to see them up close and for more than the forty five seconds they usually get on a trip down the runway.
Shannon Zahnle's work has appeared in Bloom magazine. In Dec/Jan of 2014, her image was on the cover and a portfolio of her work was featured. Her photo was also the cover for The Ryder in April 2014 and her photos were included in Ebbinghouse's article in the same isasue, "TrashionRefashion or how I found myself designing couture clothes from materials found in dumpsters".
