Bloomington hosts 2008 AAU Girls’ Basketball
Super Regional Tournament this Weekend
Over 35 teams in six age divisions will play 75 games over the course of two days.
More than 35 teams, comprised of up to 12 girls per team, will participate in the two-day tournament held at the Bloomington SportsPlex. The teams will be divided into five age divisions, ranging from age 9 and under to age 15 and under, and will play in more than 75 games over the course of the event. The winner in each age group will receive the right to participate in the 2008 AAU Girls’ Basketball National Tournament.

Economic Impact
This is the fifth year that Bloomington has hosted an AAU SuperRegional event and once again the tournament will bring a number of out of town visitors to Bloomington, including players, coaches and family members. Participants should be visible around town and local hotels, restaurants and other attractions may see in increase in visitors during the weekend event.
