Visit Bloomington Publishes New LGBT Guide and Upgraded Mobile Site

Bloomington, IN-The destination marketing organization for Bloomington and Monroe County, Visit Bloomington, has recently published a new visitors guide specifically for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.  This coincides with the recent upgrade of the VisitBloomington.com mobile site.  The two marketing tools add new and updated ways to reach visitors.

The new LGBT guide has been modified from previous issues.  It is now a stand-alone brochure that complements the standard visitors guide.  The LGBT guide features events, attractions and resources that are of particular interest to the LGBT travel community.  Tourism is a major industry and LGBT travel is estimated to be a $65 billion a year industry in the U.S.  This specific marketing piece, along with the VisitGayBloomington.com website, helps to promote Bloomington as a friendly and welcoming destination to LGBT travelers.

Visit Bloomington has also upgraded their mobile site to offer a more stylish and user-friendly interface.  The mobile site offers information on lodging options, things to do, places to eat, Indiana University, as well as special offers and a calendar of events. This mobile site will offer a valuable tool to those who rely on their mobile devices to find information, including those who are already in Bloomington and navigating the community and offerings. The VisitBloomington.com mobile site averages around 5,000 users per month, and the site upgrades will improve their experience.
