Visit Bloomington Publishes New Visitors Guide and Videos

Bloomington, IN - Visit Bloomington recently published the 2014 Bloomington Visitors Guide, making several updates to the style and function of the piece. The new guide contains more editorial content, dynamic photography, an easy-to-use map and many new listings for tourism partners. They have also launched a new video contest on Facebook, which will feature a new video each month and encourage viewers to share with their friends and fans.

The annual visitors guide has been a valuable resource for visitors to the Bloomington and Monroe County area for many years, and continues to be a primary marketing piece for attracting new visitors. This year's guide should inspire more travel to the area, with the topical features and helpful descriptions to each listing, plus new listings which include every restaurant in the county. Over 55,000 copies of the visitors guide were printed, and will be distributed throughout the country to potential visitors. They are also distributed locally at hotels and attractions, as well as the Bloomington Visitors Center and Downtown Visitors Center. Select regional visitor and information centers also carry the Bloomington Visitors Guide. Digital versions of the guide are available www.visitbloomington.com.

For potential visitors searching for travel information online, the new Visit Bloomington video contest, Share the #BtownLove, will provide an inspiring resource. There are four videos, each focusing on a theme that area residents and visitors love about Bloomington: food and culinary attractions, family and cultural attractions, Indiana University, and outdoor recreation. Each video will be available for viewing and sharing on the Visit Bloomington Facebook page, along with a contest. Viewers can sign up to win a prize pack with each new video, and receive points when they share the video and a friend views it. Each video contest will be available for approximately one month, and the entire Share the #BtownLove campaign will run until May 20th. The video contest can be found at http://woobox.com/3o9ytq.

"We are thrilled with the new visitors guide and videos," says Julie Warren, Director of Tourism for Visit Bloomington. "They are beautiful pieces, which will help attract attention, but they're also informative and representative of this diverse community."
