Vote Bloomington -- Best for Food

Bloomington, IN -- For the second year in a row Rand McNally and USA TODAY have teamed up to create a community of road travelers reviewing the best stops on America's highways and byways, from small towns to the points of interest in and between them -- the Best of the Road.

From now until May 15 people can log on to www.bestoftheroad.com and vote for the "best of" in five different categories. Visit Bloomington has joined the contest and is encouraging people to vote for Bloomington in the "Best for Food" category.

"We have a wonderful community in so many ways and our culinary offerings are certainly among the best anywhere. We are fortunate to have such high quality, diverse, one-of-a-kind restaurants that make for a great dining scene and enhance Bloomington as a great destination," says Mike McAfee, Executive Director of Visit Bloomington. "We try to share this all the time through our marketing efforts and this is just one more way to get the message out there. Please log on to the site, register and vote for Bloomington as the best food town."

Votes allow the chance to earn a stop on the 2012 Best of the Road Rally, where a road team visits the community to experience for themselves, all the culinary delights Bloomington has to offer.

Winners will be announced at the annual Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) convention in July.
