Scarlet Oak Woods

Named for the scarlet oak trees that display brilliant red colors, this preserve protects a mature open forest near the Morgan-Monroe State Forest. A short trail follows a ridge that runs the length of the property, with a deep valley to the west.

Owned by Sycamore Land Trust, Scarlet Oak Woods is open for outdoor recreation activities like hiking, birding, wildlife observation, and nature photography.
