The Taste of Bloomington is a big event, and we know you have some questions. Browse the list below to find answers, and if you still have questions, feel free to message us on Facebook.
What does my entry ticket pay for?
Your entry ticket pays for everything needed to set up and run this annual event. It also pays for the awesome live music. You can see 15 different shows for the price of one ticket!
A portion of the net profits also supports local charities. We've raised over $200,000 for several Bloomington organizations since the Taste began.
How much does the food cost?
Each restaurant sets its own prices. Food items range in both portion size and price, from about $2 for a "taste" portion, up to $8 for a large portion.
What kind of food will be there?
Bloomington has a wide range of cuisine, and that variety is well-represented at the Taste. You'll find international food, tacos, BBQ, pizza, pub favorites, Indiana classics, ice cream, and so much more. Check out the participating restaurants here.
Will there be beer and wine?
You bet, and it's locally-made too. There are two beer/wine tents (21+), one in the south lot and one in the north lot. Valid ID is required to purchase drink tickets. Check here for participating breweries and wineries. There are also non-alcoholic drinks, and if you bring your own water bottle, you can fill it for free.
Is this a kid-friendly event?
Absolutely! There are plenty of kids' activities (bounce house, archery, and more) from 3-7pm, and there will be food that kids love too (think pizza, ice cream, snow cones, & cheeseburgers). Strollers are allowed.
Can I pay with a credit card?
You can purchase your ticket at the gate with a credit card, but all food purchases are cash-only. ATM available on-site.
Can I bring my dog?
Pets are not allowed on the grounds during the event. Only service animals are welcome.
Is smoking allowed at the event?
No, for everyone's health and safety, Taste of Bloomington is a non-smoking event.
If I leave, can I get back in later?
Yes, your hand will be stamped when you walk out the gate to grant you entry again.
What happens if it rains?
The event takes place rain or shine. In the event of more severe weather, Taste attendants on the grounds will be notified by Bloomington Police, and we will share any delays or updates on our Facebook page.
What else should I know?
We recommend wearing sunscreen and drinking lots of water. June weather in Bloomington can be both beautiful and hot.
