Festivities
Taste of Bloomington, June 22, 2013
Just a couple blocks away on the courthouse square, another favorite Bloomington festival will take place from 10 am to 6 pm. The annual Arts Fair on the Square, now sponsored by the Bloomington Playwrights Project, features a variety of beautiful and functional creations from local and regional artisans.
The annual waiter/waitress race pits the best of Bloomington's restaurant service professionals against one another for a year's worth of bragging rights! Each team of servers competes to see who can complete the obstacle course quickly and without spilling the beverage they're carrying. The first team to complete the task and pop the cork on their bottle of champagne wins! The race will take place at 4 pm.
All Smiles Clown Company will be on hand for face painting fun for a small fee of $5.
The following children's activities will be available for kids of all ages in front of City Hall, from 5-8 pm. There is no charge for children's activities:
Wonderlab Museum of Science, Health and Technology invites you to learn about the science of food and music with fun and surprising hands-on activities. Find out what happens when you freeze a cheese puff with liquid nitrogen!
Bloomington Parks & Recreation invites you to get up, get out and get active by participating in a variety of games and activities at the Taste of Bloomington!
Octopus, Ink. - David Weigand is Octopus, Ink., a one-person entertainment business focusing on (but not limited to) magic and balloon twisting. He performs for children at birthday parties, community events, school fairs, corporate functions, summer camps, family reunions, etc. David will be demonstrating the art of creating balloon animals and performing magic for kids during Taste, from 4 - 8 pm.
Indy East Inflatables will be on hand with inflatable fun! There will be one large bounce house and two mini houses for the littlest Taste goers.
