Downtown Parking

As Bloomington has grown, so has its need for adequate parking facilities. To help serve this need, Downtown Bloomington offers many parking opportunities.

On Street Parking

Metered, on street parking is available in downtown Bloomington at a rate of $0.50 per 30 minutes. Meters will accept $1 coins, quarters, dimes and nickels. Meters will also accept MasterCard, Visit and Discover cards, however a convenience fee of $0.30 per transaction will be added and there is a one hour minimum purchase. Meters do not accept paper currency and do not give change. Meters are enforced Monday through Saturday, from 8 am to 10 pm. On street parking is free on Sundays and City holidays.

A limited number of free on street spaces are available in the following locations:

On Rogers Street, between 11th & 5th Streets.
On Madison Street, between 2nd & 3rd Streets.
On Washington Street, between 2nd & 3rd Streets.
On Lincoln Street, between 3rd & Smith Streets.
On Grant Street, from 2nd Street to Smith Street.

Garages and Surface Lots

In certain city parking lots and public garages, the first three hours of parking are free during certain parts of the day. Certain facilities are also designated as free during specific days and times. Keep an eye out for these "Three Free" lots and garages, as noted below. Please note: Any one customer is allowed a total of three hours of free parking per day - moving your vehicle to a different Three Free lot does not provide an additional three hours of free parking.

Three downtown parking garages are available for visitor use. These parking facilities are inexpensive, convenient and also offer bicycle parking. Hourly fees for garage parking are $0.50 per hour, unless otherwise noted below.
