Wylie House Seed Sale

Not so long ago, saving seeds was an important part of gardening. Favorite strains were renewed from year to year and generation to generation. The annual Wylie House Heirloom Seed Sale features over 50 historic varieties of flower, vegetable and herb seeds, dating to pre-1850.

Craft Beer Festival

Held at the historic (and unique) Woolery Limestone Mill, the Bloomington Craft Beer Festival brings together craft brewers from around the region to celebrate great local beer and good music in a fun, unique setting. The event is sponsored by the Brewers of Indiana Guild.

Little 500 Weekend

IU Little 500 Weekend  
Mid-April, Armstrong Stadium 
IU Bloomington's signature spring event, made famous by the movie Breaking Away, pits collegiate bicyclists against one another in an exciting race. Called the greatest collegiate weekend in the country by many, Little 5 includes both men's and women's races.

Acoustic Roots Festival

WFHB Acoustic Roots Festival

A fundraiser for Bloomington Community Radio, this event focuses on the rich heritage of American acoustic roots music. A showcase for local and regional acoustic roots artists, the event features several regionally known performers on two stages and generally wraps up with an Acoustic Roots All-Star Superjam.

Kinsey Juried Show

Each summer, the Kinsey Institute Juried Art Show comes to Bloomington. This high-quality, often somewhat erotic, art exhibition is held at the Grunwald Gallery of Art on the IU campus, just a short walk from the historic Kinsey Institute itself.

This annual festival celebrates the history and culture of Harrodsburg, IN, with live music, great food, an arts & crafts show, a big parade, booths, and more! Harrodsburg is located just south of Bloomington off Highway 37.

The Limestone Comedy Festival brings well-known comedic acts to Bloomington to perform at local venues. The main venue for the event is The Comedy Attic on 4th Street. Join us in June for a few days of fun and laughter!

Indiana Limestone Symposium

Whether you're an experienced sculptor, a beginner or just a spectator, this event is for you! All levels of carvers are invited to participate in one of two sessions. Spectators are encouraged to visit during open house days and learn more about limestone. 

IU Summer Music Festival

Enjoy an array of orchestral, jazz, chamber and outdoor band concerts, a fully-staged opera production and frequent student, faculty and guest recitals during this multi-week festival of music from the IU Jacobs School of Music.

Indiana Festival Theatre

The Indiana Festival Theatre is the summer professional theatre for the IU Department of Theatre and Drama. Performances take place at the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center on the campus of Indiana University Bloomington.

A Bloomington tradition, this event has been bringing visual artists and craftspeople together for over 30 years! Presented on the grounds of the beautiful Monroe County Courthouse, Arts Fair on the Square also includes fun kids' activities!

Held the same day as Arts Fair on the Square, this annual event is a must for locals and visitors alike. Enjoy food from more than 40 of Bloomington's best restaurants, local breweries and wineries, kids' activities and live music on two stages! 

Summer Garden Walk

This annual event features tours of six unique private gardens, selected to represent the many aspects of gardening, and the flower show at the Monroe County History Center. Featured gardens change from year to year.

This annual event is a Bloomington Labor Day tradition! This free event has been recognized as one of the top 10 art festivals in the country, and it takes place right here in Bloomington. You'll find works from local, regional and even national artists.

This musical fundraiser for the Sycamore Land Trust is fast becoming a Labor Day tradition. The outdoor event features great food, local beer and live outdoor musical performances from local and national acts. Headlining artist changes each year.

clay, fiber and glass mediums. This is an excellent time to find unique, hand crafted holiday gifts.

Join downtown Bloomington in celebrating the holiday season as Santa flips the switch to transform downtown into a sparkling winter wonderland featuring 27 miles of lights. That's 240,000 bulbs! This is the official holiday season kick-off event for the Bloomington area.
