Headstone Restoration Workshop Rose Hill Cemetery 

Date: Saturday, June 6
Time: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Admission: Free

Join the Monroe County History Center Cemetery Committee and the Prospect Hill Neighborhood Association to learn the basics of headstone cleaning and repair! Each workshop is from 10 am until 2 pm. Drop in or out anytime. Wear outdoor work clothes, bring work gloves, and knee pads (if you’d like). Please bring your own water and snacks.

June 9: Janey Westin — Janey is the Art of Lettering and Kid’s Carving instructor at the Symposium. She will share about her career as a professional calligrapher and stone carver.  

June 11: Scott R. Sanders — Scott will give a talk based on Jeffrey Wolin’s photos from ’Stone Country, Then & Now’. He is a local educator and author. 

June 16: Todd Schnatzmeyer — Todd is with Indiana Limestone Institute of America and will speak about the limestone industry, past and present. 

Indiana Limestone Symposium Open House

Date: Thursday, June 11 and Thursday, June 18
Time: 1:00-4:00 PM
Location: ByBee Stone Co.
Admission: Free

The public is invited to walk the site of the 2026 Indiana Limestone Symposium and interact with artists and carvers during this special open house.  Visitors will be able to view progress on the participants' projects and have their questions answered by ILS board members and other limestone enthusiasts. 

Learning Lab's Grand Reopening

Celebrate the reopening of the IGWS Learning Lab in its new location with games, crafts, and fossils. The Learning Lab is an experiential learning center that brings our collections out of storage for hands-on discovery. Fossils & Crafts! Free for all ages & free parking.

Vinegar Hills Walking Tour
