For the past thirty-five years Mike Van Vooren has been carving limestone. He is also an avid amateur musician who plays guitar, bass, saxophone, and drums and compares his approach to sculpting limestone to that of an improvising jazz musician. This show represents some of his limestone carving from a musical perspective.

Headstone Restoration Workshop Rose Hill Cemetery

Location: Rose Hill Cemetery 
Admission: Free

Join the Monroe County History Center Cemetery Committee and the Prospect Hill Neighborhood Association to learn the basics of headstone cleaning and repair. Wear outdoor work clothes and bring work gloves and knee pads if you’d like. Please bring your own water and snacks.
