One of the most famous sculptures in Bloomington, the Indiana Arc was created from aluminum in 1995 by artist Charles O. Perry. It was commissioned in honor of IU President Emeritus Thomas Erlich (1987-1994) and his wife Ellen. The iconic red sculpture sits just outside the front doors of the Indiana University Art Museum. Indiana Arc is an investigation of the question "What does it all mean?" and is also a favorite photo spot for visitors, IU students and alumni.
