2021 Fourth of July Festivities

It's not an Independence Day celebration without fireworks! Enjoy the following fireworks shows and Fourth of July festivities in Monroe County from Friday, June 25 through Sunday, July 4. Stay tuned as more events may be added in the coming weeks.

The following annual events will not take place this year: B-Town Boom, Ellettsville Fourth of July Fireworks, and the Monroe County Fairgrounds Fireworks.


Friday, June 25

Fireworks at the Bloomington Speedway

Time: Racing begins at 7:30 pm; fireworks show starts directly after the race ends
Admission: General Admission: $15.00, Students: $10.00, Kids 12 and under: Free

Friday, July 2

Independence Day Fireworks Celebration at Lake Lemon's Riddle Point Park

Time: 10:00 pm
Admission: Free

Saturday, July 3

Independence Day "Reverse" Parade at Indiana University Memorial Stadium

Attendees will enjoy a "reverse" parade, driving by stationary parade floats and displays. When guests enter the parade at Memorial Stadium (Gate 11), they will be greeted with American flags, goodie bags (for the first 200 vehicles), and a QR code which will link them to information on each float.

Time: 10:00 am-12:00 pm
Admission: Free

Sunday, July 4

Fireworks at the Fourwinds Lakeside Inn & Marina on Fairfax Beach

Enjoy a fireworks show at the Fairfax State Recreation Area

Due to flooding and wet ground, parking is very limited. The Fairfax gatehouse will close to all entry except Inn & Marina patrons as soon as all available public vehicle and boat trailer parking spots are filled. The gate will re-open to normal operation after the fireworks show is over.

Time: Dusk
Admission: In-state residents: $7.00, out-of-state residents: $9.00
