For the foodies...

Bloomington is no stranger to good, local eating. There are many restaurants in town with outdoor dining to practice safe distancing and enjoy the beautiful weather. We always recommend checking with each restaurant for hours, as they are often changing. There are also multiple farmers' markets happening around town. Grab fresh produce, regionally-made goods, and more at any of the outdoor vendors.

For the outdoorsy types...

There are plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors in Bloomington. Between the lakes, the Hoosier National Forest, and other recreational activities, your Labor Day weekend can be spent entirely outside. For example, spend the extended break on the water. Lake Monroe Boat Rental and Paradise Rental Boats offer the opportunity to rent a boat, kayak, canoe, or other water sport accessory. Both options aren't far from camping and hiking options either! Want to enjoy the warm weather, but not feeling life on the lake? The Starlite Drive-In is a fun evening activity. For Labor Day weekend, the decades-old drive-in is playing a brand new movie that has yet to appear in the theaters. You definitely won't want to miss it!
